Cobram

Cobram is a border town in the Riverina region of Victoria, situated just north of the Murray River. Its twin town of Barooga is located on the north side of the Murray River.
Being only two and a half hours drive from Melbourne, Cobram is a popular holiday destination because it offers two registered clubs in its twin town of Barooga, a 36-hole golf course and river attractions and also a large Botanical Garden. Other attractions include a twenty metre swing bridge, Quicks Beach, walking tracks and the Barooga Markets. 

Schools

There is Cobram Primary School, St. Joseph’s Primary School, Cobram Special School which cater for primary education.  Cobram Secondary College is a well equipped school for secondary education for children from both Cobram and Barooga.

Barooga Public School caters for primary school students only. High School students must cross the river to Cobram. The Barooga Public School follows Victorian, rather than New South Wales, school holidays.

Transport

Cobram is a three hour drive from Melbourne, following the Hume Highway and Goulburn Valley Highway (through Shepparton).

Both VLine and Countrylink offer services to Cobram and Barooga. VLine operates multiple daily return connecting coach services between Cobram and Melbourne, as well as multiple return services to Albury and Mildura.

NSW TrainLink, the New South Wales regional rail and coach provider, services Cobram with three times weekly Sydney and return services via Albury.

Shops

Cobram offers a large variety of stores for shopping.  From supermarkets, pharmacies, newsagents, boutique clothing and general and specialty shops, Cobram should have it covered!

Barooga has a shopping strip known to the locals as 'Barooga Mall'. There is a general store and petrol station, post office, bakery cafe, clearance shop, pharmacy, hairdresser, vehicle service centre and air conditioning shop. 

Eateries

When dining out there is the Barooga Hotel, the Barooga Sporties, Cobram Barooga Golf Club & Happy Village Chinese Restaurant & Take Away.

Alternatively, visit one of the local wineries or one of the many cafe’s or restaurants in Cobram.
