Savernake

Savernake is a village and rural community in the southern Riverina region of New South Wales. The village is located on the Riverina Highway, east of Berrigan and consists of a hall, primary school, a now abandoned shop and a few houses. The hall is used from time to time by the HotHouse theatre group, based in Albury-Wodonga, for small touring theatrical productions.

The main agricultural products of the area include sheep (for meat and wool), beef cattle, dryland cropping and pig production as well as some irrigated rice production

Whilst in Savernake, pay a visit to Savernake Station which is a historic pastoral property 20 minutes north of Lake Mulwala, on the Murray River at Yarrawonga.

Whilst here, you can visit the many sites including:

1886 Homestead - 20 rooms of fascinating displays, 1912 Woolshed and Shearers' Quarters, 1876 Selector's Hut, 1890s Boundary Rider's Hut and Machinery Shed and the 1912 Overseer's Cottage
